January 2013 Recap

January was a decent month. I am still working out many kinks with the site and setting up schedules and such for post consistency, but also one of the biggest items on my list is perfecting the way these monthly recap posts are displayed since they are critical to the journey. Still not perfect….

As you can see not much at all has changed.  With the amount of work, school and other things that kept January busy I am glad that the numbers didnt climb.  Few more months and grad school will be complete and thats when I can really get working on cutting the debt down!

Other Notables

From time to time this monthly recap will vary as I am still deciding how to display what information and again, some information is not displayed as I debate on various privacy issues.  I hope to keep the debt chart and begin to include graphical representation as the core of these recaps, but in regards to income and expenses I am still toying with the best way to represent and what to represent (I think-I’m debating on how to track/display expenses such as going out, groceries, utilities, car, fitness, etc.).  Also, I am really loving the @Adaptu product and will be doing a detailed review soon they shut down. I findfound it better then Mint.com for my own personal accounts and love the mobile app as well.  More coming on that. I also have plans to incorporate my multiple income streams in DandD.  Other goals include continuing to grow social media presence and interaction with other well respected finances blogs and authors.  The learning process continues….!!!

  1. I’m not sure I am going to continue my monthly recaps as I don’t want to annoy my regular non blog owning readers.
I think next month I will setup a website dedicated to monthly updates of my sites and my online income activities.

    • @MonsterPiggyBank I actually had the a similar thought after putting this together. My original Jan 2013 recap had a lot more info. I included an income/expenses breakdown and even further broke down the income stream revenues, but it just wasnt presenting well on the blog so I havent figured out what I want to do. I was thinking to add a Debt Tracker tab and post updates to that page. Still a work in progress…
