Adaptu is Closing Shop

Well, I was gearing up to write about Adaptu this evening, set it up to post tomorrow morning and enjoy another day. Then out of nowhere I get the below email… looks like that review of Adaptu is worthless now and I will have to transition back to

Dear Adaptu Customer,

Thank you for using the Adaptu service. We are writing today to let you know that the Adaptu service will be discontinued on February 20, 2013.

The discontinuation of Adaptu means that after February 20 you will no longer be able to access your Adaptu account via or through the Adaptu Wallet mobile app.

You may choose to close your Adaptu account now by signing in and selecting “Delete Account” in Member Settings: Otherwise your data will be safely and securely deleted from our systems on February 20.

You also have the option to export your transactions before February 20.  Just login to your account on and go to the Manage Financial Accounts section and the Transactions page. If you have been a mobile only user, you will have to complete additional security questions to extract your data. There is an Export transactions button at the bottom of the page, which you can use to export to a CSV file.

We will not share or sell any of the information you have entrusted us with as an Adaptu member. This includes your email address, Adaptu credentials, and credentials for your financial institutions.

Over the next few weeks, we are available to answer your questions at and we have posted answers to some of the most common questions here:

Thank you again for choosing Adaptu and we wish you success in your financial journey.

The Adaptu Team

It’s too bad that Adaptu didn’t last. I enjoyed the user interface more then and I also like the details that were presented in regards to the investment accounts I linked.  The graphical representations for spending were fantastic and the mobile app was simple to use and gave all the information needed to monitor all your money.
